About I Love KG
I Love KG is an independent travel guide to Kyrgyzstan. We help travellers choose a region, route and style of trip and understand the road, season, restrictions and preparation involved.
We create I Love KG
There are three of us working on the guide. The project combines route experience, practical work with travellers, research, structure and editing. Every guide follows the same editorial check: personal observations are separated from verifiable facts, and changing conditions receive a verification date.
Dmitry Kalyuzhny
Category-one instructor-guide and sports tourism instructor authorised to teach; initial, basic and specialist instructor schools; first-aid training and a rescuer qualification; experience leading and taking part in graded expeditions up to category four. These qualifications and experience are listed in the expert profile for a sports tourism course.
Maria Kalyuzhnaya
Sports tourism instructor authorised to teach. Together with Dmitry: several years of training, professional rescuer courses, teaching at an instructor school in St Petersburg and leading hiking trips. This experience is described in an interview with 24.kg. First journey in Kyrgyzstan: an almost three-week category-three sports expedition across the Teskey Ala-Too range. This route experience now informs the guides we publish.
Evgeny Buyanov
Co-founder and former director of the 4brain.ru educational platform, with experience launching and developing digital products and startups. The 4brain platform received investment from the Internet Initiatives Development Fund, completed its accelerator and was included in HolonIQ's list of the top 100 EdTech projects in the CIS. Also a lead engineer and lecturer at the Department of Innovation Economics, Faculty of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University. A detailed professional profile is available on the department's website. Work on I Love KG covers technical development and maintenance of the website, digital product design, the structure and language of each guide, and checking claims against primary sources. This turns field experience into clear guidance for travellers.
Why we love Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan brings together dramatic mountain landscapes, clear lakes and living cultural traditions. Visitors also encounter a warmth towards guests that shapes everyday travel around the country.
Old traditions remain part of modern life. Yurts on summer pastures, national celebrations and folk games all connect present-day Kyrgyzstan with its history.
We created I Love KG to help you explore the country's nature and culture and plan a journey with clearer, more practical information.
π° Project news
π 3 September 2026. I Love KG is now available in five languages: the Turkish edition is complete, with all 233 public pages available in Turkish. Each page was adapted for Turkish-speaking travellers and edited as a standalone guide rather than translated line by line. Automated checks verify coverage, links and language consistency.
π 2 September 2026. We completed the French edition of the guide: all 232 public pages are now available in French. Each page was written as an independent editorial text rather than translated word for word. Automated checks verify coverage, links and language consistency.
π 22 August 2026. Our latest release brings ten notable improvements: a rebuilt tour overview; new guides to entry rules, money, climate, snakes and spiders and the Tien Shan; new features on the Kyrgyz yurt and ak-kalpak; and refreshed navigation across practical information and culture. Every new page is available in Russian, English and German.
π 13 August 2026. We substantially updated our guides to Jeti-Oguz and Altyn Arashan and published a new guide to poppy fields in Kyrgyzstan.
π 12 August 2026. We launched complete English and German editions of the guide. Each article is written as an independent version based on the Russian original rather than produced as a machine translation.
π 7 October 2023. The I Love KG project began with Maria, Dmitry and Evgeny.
