Kyrgyz phrases for hotels and guesthouses
At a hotel, ask about available rooms, the nightly rate and facilities. Short Kyrgyz phrases help you check in, confirm the arrangements and explain a problem.
Show your booking confirmation and say how many nights you are staying. Check which room is being offered, what the price includes and the total for your stay.
How to read the phrases
The Latin line is an approximate reading aid. u sounds like oo in food; ı is an unrounded back vowel. y sounds like y in yes, j like j in jam, ng like ng in sing, ch like ch in chair and sh like sh in shop. For ö and ü, round your lips while trying to say eh and ee. Double vowels are held longer. Bold type in the reading aid marks the stressed syllable. One-syllable words and words whose stress has not been confirmed are left unmarked.
Finding a room and checking the price
Say how many people and nights you need. “Эки кишилик” means a room for two people; it does not specify the bed arrangement. The price of 2,000 som below is a language example.

- Ооба, бар. [Ooba, bar.]
- You may hear There are no rooms available.
- Бош бөлмө жок. [Bosh bölmö jok.]
- You may hear Two thousand som per night.

Facilities and practical requests
Ask about hot water and breakfast before checking in. After asking about Wi-Fi, ask the host to write down the password. Point out the specific problem if something in your room is not working.

Checking out and paying
Check the checkout time, luggage storage and payment method with your host or receptionist. The answer “by twelve” below is for practice.

Practice dialogue: two nights at 2,000 som per night make 4,000 som in total. The amounts show the difference between the nightly rate and the total; they are not a hotel tariff.

The nightly rate and the total
Check whether the nightly rate is per person or for the whole room. Show the guest count and dates, then ask for the total. Any numbers in the practice dialogue are examples, not actual rates.
Requests and problems
Ask for a towel or explain that there is no water or the shower is not working. Point to the item or show a message on your phone if a short phrase is not enough.
